YoYoRecreation has released another “team portrait” video, this one featuring Yuusuke Ootsuka.
This is one of the first yoyo videos to be shot extensively with drone footage and the result is staggeringly beautiful. It’s such a completely different look for yoyoing, and once again Backspin leader Piotrek Smietana has taken yoyo cinematography to the next level.
Yuusuke’s yoyo play is fantastic, but hearing him talk about the motivation behind his freestyles is really my favorite part. This part in particular really struck me:
Nowadays, tricks are telling too much information to the audience. That’s why I want to express only a few things with my freestyle. I think that most people don’t choose the most important parts, and simply don’t watch how it looks overall. I want to make a point, that showing the best of your skill doesn’t always mean to show all of your tricks in a single freestyle.
New players coming up and starting to think about competing in freestyle competitions..pay close attention to this idea. I promise you, it will be the thing that separates you from the pack.
Huge thanks to YoYoRecreation and Piotrek Smietana for this incredible video!
