YoYoJam is releasing a new version of their “Next Level” yoyo, this one as a special edition for team member Sora Ishikawa. The beautifully animated video above shows off the various changes and improvements made to Ishikawa-san’s specs, including a flat inner wall, the ability to add YoYoJam’s Lateral caps, and some adjustments to the profile and weight distribution. The new Next Level looks great, can’t wait to try one out!

4x World YoYo Champion Hiroyuki Suzuki has announced a new plastic yoyo from his brand, sOMEThING!
The Premiére is a new injection molded plastic yoyo that is meant to be a low-cost plastic version of their flagship yoyo, the Anglam. The first release will be at the sOMEThING WORLD KOREA event in Seoul on February 22nd. The yoyo will get a full retail release in March. The Premiere is designed for unresponsive play and ships with a Center Trac bearing, but will also ship with a half-spec bearing for responsive play by beginners. The Premiere looks like a great entry-level yoyo for this premium Japanese brand…great job, Hiroyuki-san!
There’s a new yoyo on the market from a company that doesn’t know anything about yoyos…which is something we don’t actually say all that often! The Sling-Slang YoYo is brought to us by Tait Design Co., who’s only other product to date has been an equally limited edition revamp of the classic balsa wood airplane glider. Seems they have a thing for mixing classic toys with graphic design, and the results are pretty good looking. Granted, the play value of a wooden yoyo with a fixed metal axle is going to be pretty limited, but the packaging is gorgeous! If only we could get more actual yoyo companies to care this much about their packaging, huh?

CLYW has dropped photos, specs, and release details for their new signature model for 5x Czech National Champion, Petr Kavka. In an interesting twist, CLYW will be releasing a single production run of the prototype version of The Scout before releasing the final design in 2015. Check out full details below!
We’re pleased to announce that the final Scout design enters production in early 2015. The Scout is the new signature model for 5-time Czech National Champion Petr Kavka. Box art (shown above) by Jason Week.
For the design of The Scout, Petr wanted to blend two of his favorite return tops, the Chief and the Bonfire. We took the outer rim of the Chief and combined it with the profile of the Bonfire, then made some adjustments to the inner cups and weight distribution. The result is the return top that Petr won the 2014 Czech Nationals with, and something that we’re really happy to add to the 2015 CLYW lineup.
The prototype that Petr has been using for the past few months is a fantastic return top, one of our favorites! But Petr wanted to make some changes to it that make great sense for his play needs. We’ve made the changes, and the final design will be available early next year.
The current prototype of the Scout (shown above) is an amazing return top, and it’s exactly a half-way point between the Chief and the final Scout design. We love it, and we think that you will too. So we’re trying something a little crazy; for the first time ever, we’re going to release a production run of a prototype design.
The Advance Scout is limited to 300 pieces and we’ll never make them again. It will be available in solid colors only, direct from CLYW on our website, in early December. We’ll announce a release date soon.
We’re really excited about this release, and we’ve got some really excellent surprises planned…get ready for the Scout!

YoYo Store Rewind dropped a new yoyo that is definitely worth a look.
Designed by Ian Cole under the name “Innovative YoYo Concepts” the Breathe yoyo features concentric cut-outs in the body of the yoyo, presumably for weight distribution benefits. The look is pretty unique, although I have to wonder what problem he’s trying to solve with the design, and if the wind resistance is minimal enough to still allow the benefits of those cut outs. The yoyo is machined in the US, and uses One Drop’s bearing and response so it’s a safe bet that it probably came out of their machine shop, which speaks well to the quality. EDIT: Confirmed, this was NOT machined by One Drop.
CLYW has finally announced the drop date for the Wooly Marmot 2…and it’s this Saturday, April 12th at 10 PM EST.
The Wooly Marmot 2 is the signature model of World Champion Jensen Kimmitt, and an updated version of his original signature model. The last Wooly Marmot production run was in 2012, and it’s been a favorite of fans and collectors…so expect these to fly off the virtual shelves when they drop on Saturday night. Check out the Marmot 2 in action, when Jensen showed up at 2014 California States with the first production samples:
The Wooly Marmot 2 will be available at the following stores…expect the US retailers to have it available Saturday night, while it might take a little longer for the retailers in Europe and Asia to receive their inventory. The box features a slew of awesome Marmot illustrations by Jason Week, showing the many faces of the Marmot.

Remember that sOMEThING video we posted the other day? Well, looks like Hiroyuki Suzuki has actually one-upped us all and negotiated that song as a commercial release!
“Forever Loved + Lose Control” is now the official freestyle song of Hiroyuki’s brand sOMEThING, and you can buy a CD of the song that features 1-minute and 3-minute versions, ready for the contest of your choice!

OneDrop has finally released full production photos and specs of their newest signature model yoyo, the Valor for Hungarian team member Vilmos Zoltan Kiss. The first release will be January 19th, 7:00 pm (GMT+2) at www.yoyoraven.com, with the rest of the world getting their supply shortly after.
The Valor was designed very much as a collaborative effort with Vilmos, with a lot of input and specific design elements (such as the triple grooves in the catch zone and in the hub) being dictated by Vilmos himself…so if you’re a fan of his play and style, you won’t want to pass this up!
C3yoyodesign presents the “P.wave”, the new signature edition yoyo for Hong Kong player Peter Pong Si Yee. No word yet on price or availability, but full specs and video are below!
