One Drop has announced their next budget model, the Gauntlet. Available April 1st, starting at $49 for solid colors, it looks like a comfy, organic throw for all you One Drop fans. Check out their statement and full specs below.
Continuing our mission that begun with the Vanguard to make sure that yo-yos of the highest quality are available to all at a great price, we are throwing down the Gauntlet!
Just like the Vanguard, the Gauntlet will start at $49 for solid colors. Unlike the Vanguard, it is big, wide and organic. Early feedback at contests has been really positive.
The Gauntlet features a full-bodied organic catch zone that starts with a nice bump coming out of the guts. The rims taper off elegantly giving it a satisfying feel in the hand. It is stable and long spinning with plenty of speed.
We are constantly pushing ourselves to achieve our mission for the better of the players. The Gauntlet has been thrown.
Available starting April 1st.

Yoshinori Kawamura drops a solid minute and a half of new repeaters (repeaters!) in this new video for One Drop. There are few things in yoyo life that I love more than a good repeater…there is just something to legitimately pure about smoothing out a short sequence to the point where it just effortlessly loops while you guide it on and on and on and on. It’s the closest I’ll ever come to meditation. Great work, Yoshinori!

Seems like every team is adding people lately! CLYW picked up Tessa Piccillo, Recess added Joe Wilson, Adrian Velez, and Ahmad Kharisma, and now One Drop has picked up Ethan Cheung! Congrats to Ethan and One Drop!
There isn’t anything in the English dictionary to describe how thrilled we are to be working with Ethan Cheung. Reigning from New Jersey, Ethan has quietly worked his way to becoming a powerhouse in the circuit. His technical execution, elemental smoothness and flow pairs perfectly with the jazzy tunes he can lay down on his saxophone. The future is bright with Ethan and we are privileged to have him as a part of our family, and more than excited to see him serenade the world with his talents.
