The 2015 Asia Pacific Championship attracted the usual massive amount of talent to this years event, including a ton of the Something/IZM team. Check out a highlight video of Hiroyuki Suzuki’s dream team in action!
Iori Yamaki wins the 2015 Asia Pacific YoYo Championships!
What an incredible contest! The 2015 Asia-Pacific Yo-yo Championships comes to an end with an unbelievably high level of competition!
1A was especially tough, with some of the world’s best fighting for the title, but it was Iori Yamaki, with an amazing display of speed and skill who took the title, ahead of previous champion Ahmad Kharisma, and multiple time World Champion Hiroyuki Suzuki!
In 2A, the world’s greatest champion, Shinji Saito, was once again the winner, beating country-mate Shu Takada, and Hong Kong’s Liu Man Ki.
Even without the same amount of top level players, 3A was a close call, with Taiichiro Higashi beating Mizuki Takimoto by only one point before deducts! Thawhir Iqbal, from Singapore, finished third.
4A usually has a higher number of deducts, and AP this year was no exception, with deducts determining a few placings. This year’s Japan Nationals runner-up, Naoto Onishi, finished first, followed by Singapore’s Sean Hung, and China’s Zhao Chen.
Finally, in 5A, Naoya Takeuchi completed Japan’s clean sweep by beating Singapore’s own Ian Loh, and Yuttana Sukhumalchatsombat, from Thailand!

Three Fantastic Asia-Pacific Challenge Clips
You know a great contest when you can watch three long clip videos and still find yourself wanting more! The Asia Pacific Yo-yo Championships has a tradition of delivering those, and this year is no different!
We start off with this sweet clip from Brian Low, which has the best intro ever!
Jason Kao brings us this incredible clip, which has no yoyoing in it, but perfectly shows us what AP is all about. And has the cutest thumbnail in history, too!
And we wrap up with one more clip video from Ewin Ee:
Do not miss AP if you ever have a chance to attend. I can personally attest it is the most fun a person can have in three days!

Ahmad Kharisma beats Christopher Chia and Hiroyuki Suzuki to claim the AP 2013 title!
Ahmad Kharisma, from Indonesia, is the 2013 Asia Pacific champion! He’s no stranger to this and other international contests in Asia, but beating the only previous champions of the contest is no small feat! Hiroyuki Suzuki has no less than seven AP titles, the only one he had not won so far was the 2011 title, when Christopher Chia won.
In 2A, the young Japanese talent Ginji Miura had no trouble beating Shaqler’s Atsushi Yamada to take first place. Last year’s winner, Shunsuke Kawakami ended up in sixth place.
3A and 5A, however, saw last year’s champions return to the top. Wong Chak Wing, from China, beat Taiichiro Higashi, from Japan by almost twenty points for a clear 3A win, while Bryan Jardin, from the Philippines, had a slightly tougher time retaining his 5A title beating Denny Ko, from Hong Kong and Iskandar Shah, from Singapore by just over ten points.
Finally, in 4A, former World Champion Tsubasa Onishi finished first to claim his second AP title. Coming in second place was the contest’s pleasant surprise, Thailand’s Pornpinit Sanprasert, finishing ahead of Korean champion Jeon Ji-Hwan and the always spectacular Sean Perez!

Over 200 players to compete at Asia Pacific Prelims!
The 2013 Asia-Pacific YoYo Contest will be held next weekend in Singapore, and the list of players for the preliminary round is just massive, with over two hundred players competing in all divisions during the whole day.
Last year, AP shared the same dates as the China YoYo Corporation Championships, leading to a decrease in the number of contestants, but this year the entire region will be gathered at the same spot, ranging from several World Champions from Japan to newcomers from the newly booming Vietnam scene.
Among those battling for a spot in the finals are World Champions Daisuke Shimada, Tsubasa Onishi, Takahiko Hasegawa, and Marcus Koh.
The 2013 Singapore YoYo Contest will also be held along with AP 2013, so Singaporean players have an extra incentive to do their best in their home turf.
