First Look – Throw Revolution Kaiser

March 9, 2017 By Steve Brown

Throw Revolution Kaiser yoyo

We’ve got a look at the newest release from World YoYo Champion Marcus Koh’s brand, Throw Revolution!

The Kaiser is a monometal yoyo made of 7075 aluminum, and designed to perform to Marcus’ exacting standards. His goal with the Kaiser was bi-metal performance in a monometal yoyo…not the easiest thing to accomplish, but we look forward to trying one and seeing how close he got. Check out Throw Revolution’s info below, along with more pics and full specs. The Kaiser is available March 14th at 8 pm SGT at the Throw Revolution store, and hits retailers soon after.

When the Kaiser was made, It was designed to bring out a Bi-metal performance in a mono-metal yo-yo. This Yo-Yo was made for the aspiring competitor, not just any competitor. But for the one who dares to be a champion.

We wanted a Yo-Yo that is able to comfortably return to your hands. This is an important aspect which is often overlooked, as it ensures that your next throw will always a good one. Specially for freestyles when you have to bind from a strong spin due to a music cue.

The Kaiser was designed with step curved Rims to rest perfectly on your hands.

The Kaiser needed to be a yo-yo that stands out. We experimented by introducing a new twist to the way its being anodized by giving it a raw finished cut around the hub of the Kaiser.

The end result was Stunning. It was a design that stood out immediately, which made the Kaiser uniquely identifiable.

With the Kaiser’s release approaching, we’re staying true to our company’s mission.

“To unleash the greatness in you, and provide the highest standards of excellence at ThrowRevolution.“

And you’ll be the first one to receive the “Revolutionary Experience”, a special 1-on-1 coaching session with Marcus Koh when you purchase a Kaiser today.

First Look – Duncan Freehand AL

October 2, 2013 By Steve Brown

Duncan Toys Freehand AL

Looks like the Freehand is finally getting its first real upgrade in almost ten years! Precision made in Japan, the Freehand AL is definitely more of a high-end model than we were hoping for…I think players would absolutely kill for a reliable aluminum Freehand with modern bearing/response in the $60 range. But at $110 – $120, I don’t think these are quite the Freehand revolution we were hoping for from Duncan. These being produced in Japan definitely bodes well for the quality control, though, as Japanese factories have an incredible reputation for quality control…especially for small, precision objects like these.

The Duncan Freehand, the original counterweight yo-yo, has been a player favorite for over a decade. It’s a model that has seen many different versions such as the FH Zero, Metal Zero, Hyper Freehand, and Freehand MG to name a few. A popular request has been to produce an aluminum version based on the original Freehand, fitted with original Freehand/FH Zero style side caps and to have a modern response and bearing system. Freehand AL gives the players what they have been asking for with a large ball-bearing axle and SG Sticker response for unresponsive play! Freehand AL will be available at the 2013 U.S. National Yo-Yo Contest in limited quantities and will begin shipping to retailers November 1st!

Duncan Freehand AL Specs:

Diameter: 57 mm
Width: 39.95 mm
Weight: 64.60gm without caps, 70.2gm with caps
Gap: 4.05 mm
Bearing: Size C
Response: SG Sticker
Price: $110 – $120
Colors: Red, Black, Silver, Nickel, Blue
Comes with 1 Counterweight Die and 2 Sidecaps

Behind The Scenes Video & New Kohta Watanabe Sig YoYo

January 4, 2013 By Steve Brown

Great players, great tricks, and Brandon Jackson from Duncan Toys gave us the heads up that Kohta Watanabe is throwing a prototype of his upcoming signature model!

I got Brandon on the horn, and found out that Kohta’s new signature model will be aluminum, and part of the De-Luxxe Series from Duncan, which means it will retail under $60. Tentative release is Spring/Summer 2013 but nothing is finalized. That was all the detail he could spill for the time being, but I know where he lives so I’ll stalk him until I can get more info.
