Check out this full-length video from player Trent Knighton. He’s got a style that’s reminiscent of modern play pioneer SAGE but with his own distinct flavor. Really nice work, Trent!

Cirque du Soleil has kicked off the North American tour of its “Kurios” show, featuring yoyo player Tomonari “Tom Black” Ishiguro! The show got a nice bit of press for opening night from The Torontoist, and apparently Black’s yoyo routine is somewhere around 10 MINUTES. Crazy!

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of 44FESTA, probably the best regular event for ALL attendees, from World Champions to moms and dads. And I’m quite happy to wish the FESTA crew – Masanobu, Hassy, Jun, Bryan, and Kenji – a very happy 1st anniversary!
As you know, 44FESTA has a year-long score kept for all attendees, and the anniversary event is where plenty of cute trophies and ducks are awarded. Freestyle award, mini-contest award, kid award, mom & dad award, and many more were awarded a the anniversary edition on August 3rd.
There was even a photo book for sale! I love yo-yo photo books! Especially those with Pon in them!
Also new for this event was the lack of a freestyle contest. Instead, a random-draw trick battle took place, and old-schooler Ryusei Saito beat the young Yamato Fujiwara in the final battle to take the duck home.
The 44FESTA crew sends many thanks for the companies and individuals who have been supporting the event since its first edition one year ago, and invites us all to the next events, on September 14th and October 12th!

Werrd has got the market cornered on quality yoyo players named Vu, so it only makes sense to pit them against each other in a fight to the death!
Unfortunately, they chose to have them do a video together instead. Which is cool, I guess, but c’mon…death match. DEATH MATCH.
Featuring Vu ho the 2010 Australian national Yoyo champion and Brandon Vu the current 2014 Australian national Yoyo champion
Vu + Vu.. Coincidence?
I think not!Fresh off the production line after the conclusion of the Australian championships these two young talented guys placing 1st and 2nd consecutively have proven themselves to be the top two players in Australia. If that doesn’t give you enough push to watch, both were carefully selected by Werrd to join their global international brand which is an obvious recipe for success!
Now they have joined forces for the greater good to bring you Vu^2 to show the rest of the world how they throw ‘down under’
Throwing the latest Werrd Irony JP.Without further ado,
I present Vu Ho and Brandon Vu in the coolest of cool, super awesome, almost impossible: Vu^2.
Hope y’all enjoy it!

Well, I told you to beg and man did we get some beggars….but with yoyo giveaways and Highlanders there can be only one!
And the winner of the Monkeyfinger Gelada 2 is….
Part of it is the sadness of the hand-Sharpied shirt, and his claim that “Seriously, if I don’t win I WILL CRY MYSELF INTO SEVERE DEHYDRATION AND DIE”. Part of it was his daring use of the hashtag #ivehitbottom..don’tcare. It also helped that after he posted this on Instagram, a pretty girl commented and called him a nerd.
For all of these reasons, you sad, strange little man, you win!
