Nagoya, well known among Japanese yo-yo players as the home of the very strong Central Japan Regional Yo-yo Contest, hosted a special edition of 44FESTA on May 31st.
A yo-yo event in the region will certainly attract tons of great players, and 44FESTA was no exception. In addition to the mini contest, sponsor tables, and lucky draws, the freestyle contest had big name contestants and judges: among the competitors, Tatsuya Fujisaka, Shinya Kido, Jun Aramaki, Hironori Mii, and Kazuki Okada. Among the judges, Hiroyuki Suzuki, Kengo Kido, Rei Iwakura, Hiroyasu Ishihara, Ryosuke Kawamura, and Shu Takada’s father, Mr. Makoto Takada!
As you can guess, Nagoya is also where Rewind’s headquarters is located, and the entire crew took part in the contest.

The 2014 Malaysia National Yo-yo Contest was held on June 6th and 7th, and marked the tenth edition of the contest!
This 1A winner was Zafran Aqil, who had placed third last year. While he did not have the cleanest routine, he kept his cool, and took the crown with plenty of pretty cool arm combos.
Veteran Ewin Ee took first in 2A and 4A, adding to his massive collection of national titles, while trick monster Hassan Marialis was once again crowned 3A, his second in the division back to back. 5A also had last year’s winner keep the crown, with Alif Izwan winning his third title in a row!
