Ryan Gee revisits an old idea with some new results in this concept video. Back in the early 2000’s a few players were experimenting with slave yoyos including myself, Mark Montgomery, and Roger Pimentel. The idea was mostly to use the secondary yoyo as a mounting point, get a couple of wraps around the axle, and then use the dismount of the main yoyo to “launch” the slave. (You can see video of it in one of the Duncan CD-ROM clips, although I can’t find a version online to link.)
Ryan’s new work here is different for the chief reason that yoyos are unresponsive now, leading to some interesting ideas with binding yoyos and then snap-starting them. Fun stuff for sure, and always great to see someone pushing new concepts out there.
