New CLYW Website

September 18, 2013 By Steve Brown

http://www.clyw.ca

Our friends at CLYW have a new website, and have been dropping some great special editions!

Two limited editions of the Yeti have gone up (and sold out immediately) as well as the FINAL RUN of the Canvas! There are a handful of Ash Berry (gorgeous!) and Electric Bacon Canvases left, but after this there will be no more.

The new site combines the CLYW blog and store, so finally you have a one-stop for all your information about CLYW. Well, other than YoYoNews.com. 😉

There will be ONE final Canvas drop before the model is officially retired…and rumor has it this one will feature special artwork by Jensen Kimmitt! No pics yet since they’re at the engravers now, but we’ll post pics and a release time the moment we have more information.

That’s not the regular retail for the colored Yetis, that’s just for these limited ones in non-production colors. Chris seems to be selling off test shots in colors that aren’t going to be produced again while he waits for full production of the colored ones to be completed.

Something else to note that I wasn’t aware of previously…all of these plastic parts are hand-sanded and polished before assembly. Apparently, this isn’t as simple as just screwing them together. So it’s $80 for super-limited color versions that there are less than 20 – 30 pieces of that will ever be made. Considering what people used to pay for transitional and rare colors of Freehands, I think this pricing is pretty much correct for what you’re getting.

Whether that’s worth it is basically a matter of this: do you want a yoyo to beat the hell out of, or do you want a collectible yoyo in a rare color that you’re going to throw over carpet and mostly keep on a shelf?
