The Hitman is back!
10 years ago, Johnnie DelValle took the 1A game to a whole new level with his World Championship Freestyle. He introduced grind tricks to the World and made tech look like bangers.
In 2003, YoYoJam partnered with JD to create a revolutionary new yo-yo to accommodate his advanced style… and the HitMan was born.
The HitMan redefined unresponsive play and allowed players to do longer, more technical tricks. It became the icon yo-yo for grinds. Grinds are still one of the most popular, crowdpleasing tricks today. If you look back at JD’s winning freestyle, you’ll know what we mean.
In honor of JD’s greatness, we revamped the yo-yo he used to fit today’s style of play. YoYoJam introduces HitMan X – an all-new product that feels like the original 2003 HitMan, but even better.
Not only do the machined metal rims allow for smooth grind play, but the new HitMan X also contains a wider catch gap, larger diameter, and silicone response making it capable of even more technical play!
This Worlds 2013 edition HitMan is a special pre-release edition with exclusive artwork, set up for unresponsive play. A full production run will follow set up for responsive play out of a package and with a Speed bearing included.
Designed “For the Player, By the Player,” HitMan X is an iconic yo-yo, updated for modern play.
Matt Fernandez just dropped a solid video, filmed at the 2013 Bay Area Classic in San Francisco, California. A great combination of contest and hanging-out footage, this clip really gives you a feel for this amazing event.

Ky Zizan is one of the most underrated players in the Midwest, but we’ve got a new video that should change that. Filmed after Ky’s win at 2013 Ohio States, “Down By The Water” is an up-close look at Ky’s skill and originality.
This video also has a teaser of his “Double Dragon” family of tricks. We first saw something similar in Rei Iwakura’s 2008 AP Division routine at the World YoYo Contest, but Rei’s moves were all counterweight based. Ky has taken the concept of two strings, one yoyo and carried it through as complicated 1A tricks. Expect to see more from him soon!
Ben Dawson and Ibrahim Itani dropped a new video, and there’s some really nice work in here. Plus a spooky, abandoned car in a creek. Curious to know the story behind that, actually, but for now it’ll do as a spooky and unique backdrop for this video.
