CLYW team member Andrew Maider kicks off the new YoYo Trick Theory video series from YoYoExpert! Filmed during the 2016 US National YoYo Contest, this video showcases tricks from Andrew and a few other players and sits down with Andrew to gets his thoughts on modern trick theory and construction. Every player approaches yoyo play differently, and for a new player it can be pretty hard to figure out which direction you want to head in. A series like Trick Theory gives you the opportunity to hear from your favorite players about why they do what they do, and help you determine the direction that you want to push your own play. We’re pretty excited about this series, and can’t wait to show you more!

The YoYoBrothers Heritage is the first ever release from yoyo collector and contest organizer Matthew Wright.
The Heritage is a zippy yoyo, great for speed combos and horizontal play, with a ton of concentrated rim weight. The Heritage shape combines organic curves with an open catch zone and perfect width. The distribution of weight makes for a very versatile and stable yo-yo with a speedy, long lasting spin that handles fast directional changes with ease. Whether you’re playing relaxed, patiently forming new tricks, or blazing through contest freestyles, this yo-yo is built to perform on every occasion!
The YoYoBrothers Heritage is available in limited quantities in four colorways; three signature editions for the YoYoBrothers sponsored players, and a special edition for YoYoExpert. The colorways are a nice spread of finish styles, which makes it easy for anyone to find a colorway that jumps out at them. The anodizing is really well done, and the colors are crisp.
The YoYoBrothers Heritage is a collector’s piece available in very limited quantities, so the $110 retail is pretty reasonable for what is sure to be a rare throw. The performance is definitely competition quality, so the price is worth it for a yoyo that rides the line between function and collectibility.
The YoYoBrothers Heritage is available at 8:00 PM EST – Wednesday – December 28th, 2016, at YoYoExpert.com.

The latest YoYoFactory Adventure video is here, and this one is from their recent trip to Peru! You might remember the IndieGoGo project that backed this trip and launched the Titanium Shutter…well, now we finally get a look at the scenery and dude, IT WAS WORTH IT. Another amazing video from the folks at YoYoFactory, featuring Gentry Stein, Paul Kerbel, Vashek Kroutil, André Boulay, and more.
Sponsored by a ton of players and YoYoExpert.
It’s that time of year again!
We get a new edition of everyone’s favorite fixed axle yoyo, we get a new video of fixie impossibilities from Ed Haponik, and we get the smug satisfaction that comes with feeling vaguely superior to all the people who don’t play fixed axle.
Ok, that last bit only lasts for about 6 minutes and it’s not our most endearing trait, but hey, it’s the holidays, and we want a little validation for our hard work, ok? Our knuckles are a mess.

CLYW has unveiled The Gorge, a new oversized bi-metal yoyo dropping tonight (surprise!) only at YoYoExpert.com. Designed by CLYW owner Chris Mikulin, the Gorge is a fat, fun, throwback yoyo meant to be a casual throw that can still hit anything you want. A blend of performance and laid-back style makes the Gorge just stupidly fun and super addictive. Once you get one of these, the chances are good it’s going to become a daily carry. Check out the CLYW description & specs below, and snag one at YoYoExpert.com tonight at 10 pm EST.
Who wants to kick it old school?
The Gorge is a powerful, long-spinning throwback to the days of return top design when walls were high, profiles were round, and bi-metal designs were scarce. This is exactly the sort of return top that CLYW owner Chris Mikulin absolutely loved when he was first starting out, and now he’s created one with his own style and design sensibilities.
The Gorge is an oversized return top with a round, narrow profile. It feels amazing in your hand, spins as long as you want it to, and will quickly become your new go-to throw.
CLYW Gorge Specs:
Diameter: 59.5 mm
Width: 38.3 mm
Weight: 66.3 grams
Response: Snow Tires
Bearing: Pixel Bearing
Ben Conde wraps up his Around The World: Asia video series with the 15th and final installment, looking back at the entire trip. Good times, good friends, dodgy transportation, tight flight connections, great yoyo tricks, and smiles for days…looks like it was a hell of a trip. Great work, Ben!
Ben Conde put in some work at the Shanghai Toy Fair to teach as many people as possible how to do Around The World. You, sir, are a friggin’ treasure.
Yoyo used is the YoYoFactory One.
Ben Conde learns attends the Shanghai Toy Fair and learns to enjoy wearing pink. He also may or may not get schooled by a Chinese offstring player. Click the link in the top right corner of the video after the trick battle to cast your vote for the winner.
