Filmmaker Roland Thomas-Biason (aka SLVRANDBLK) captures some truly lovely counterweight yoyo play from Azim Jameel. Quality stuff.
Chase Baxter has officially joined the Duncan Toys sponsored team!
Between this, the release of the Freehand Pro, and the news that it will be carried in Toys R Us nationawide…is Duncan going to start promoting 5A again? Here’s hoping!
Congrats to Chase and Duncan on a great pickup!
Yoyo used is the Duncan Haymaker.
John Wolfe is easily one of the best tech 5A player in the United States right now. You can dispute me if you like, but you’re wrong.
Yoyo used is the Recess Vacation.
Duncan Crew Japan’s Yoshihiro Abe cranks out a beautiful 5A video for 5A May, the official month where everyone collectively goes “Hey, what happened to 5A?” and a dozen players yell “STILL HERE” and drop excellent videos.
Yoyo used is the Duncan Barracuda.
There are three things that immediately caught my eye about this video.
- Someone actually released a 5A video. We get, what, like 6 of these a year now?
- Not only is this a 5A video, but it’s a 5A video with Swedish melodic death metal for music. ‘Sup, unicorn?
- It’s actually snowing somewhere. I live in Ohio and I’ve gotten exactly ZERO snow this year so far.
The tricks are pretty good, too. 😉 Thanks, Jace!
Yoyo used is the Monkeyfinger 2Evil.
Oh hey, who’s still one of the greatest 5A players of all time? Tyler Severance, that’s who.
Check out the latest video from Ryosuke “I’m Going To Make A Video For Everyone, Eventually” Kawamura!

More new tricks from Chris Makita! Chris is one of the most unsung players of the modern era, and every video of his is pure gold. Enjoy.

Monkeyfinger’s Will Hahn gives up a smooth 5A video for the benefit of all those people wondering why no one plays 5A anymore. Thanks, Will!
Yoyo used is the Monkeyfinger Tri-B.
Tyler Severance is gearing up for a run at the 2015 World YoYo Contest, and with the launch of his new company that means we get a new counterweight video. Which is most definitely a good thing.
Yoyo used is the Recess Weekend.
Ryosuke Kawamura just totally made my week!
Shingo Terada remains one of my favorite 5A players of all time, and he was a HUGE early influence on the entire style of play. His 5A repeaters remain some of the hardest to pull of smoothly, as he reminded me last time I was in Japan when after an hour of struggling neither Petr Kavka nor I could do any of them.
Shingo Terada is still my go-to player when people ask me how to smooth out their yoyo play, and it’s exciting that he’s not only still competing (and doing well), but that he’s been practicing for 2015 Worlds!
Return top used is the CLYW Wooly Marmot 2.
Daigo Komiya gives up a fresh blast of first-person 5A that makes me feel like I should be typing less and practicing more. Crazy.
Yoyo used is the Markmont Classic by One Drop.
Duncan player Yoshihiro Abe gives up some really fun 5A play in his newest video. I have a soft spot for 5A players, but Yoshihiro is still really damn good.
Yoyo used is the Barracuda by Duncan Toys.
