The Cabin Tutorials series is getting better and better with every single video. In this one, Chuck drops a burly repeater with one of the best trick pedigrees imaginable, even if it’s not especially picturesque.
This week’s Cabin Tutorial is “Bergy’s Got Slack”, performed by the slightly-constipated looking Charles Haycock. Charles is looking increasingly pained in these videos…I’m a little concerned for the dear boy. Maybe more fiber in his diet?

CLYW x One Drop are filming a documentary about the ridiculous speed at which they’ve conceived, designed, prototyped, and produced their new collaboration yoyo, the Summit. CLYW team member Charles Haycock is handling the filming/editing duties, and they’ve released this trailer to get us ready for the project. The Summit will be available this weekend at the California State YoYo Contest, and the retail price has been announced as $115, with a limit of one per person.
…and henceforth, 2013 shall be known as “The Glorious Year of So Many Friggin’ YoYo Videos” and all shall rejoice.
Chuck and Jensen are quickly pushing product promo clip videos into high art. Between this promo for the release of the Fools’ Gold Avalanches, their accidental tribute to Mummenschanz, and the CLYW x Raised By Wolves video, CLYW has set the bar impossibly high and truly cemented the look and feel of their brand. All you small manufacturers take note: if your company doesn’t have a personality, you’re doing it wrong.
All the high fives for Chris, Chuck, and Jensen. ALL OF THEM, do you hear me?!?! ALL OF THEM!!!
To celebrate the upcoming collaborative project with Raised by Wolves, we at CLYW decided to send out Jensen Kimmitt and Charles Haycock into the freezing December winter in Edmonton to make a video. We wanted a raw feel with a realistic but impressive perspective on what return tops are all about to go along with the pieces we worked on with the folks at Raised by Wolves.
It took three days and over fifty takes to achieve this single shot. Due to the average temperature of -25C, the shooting had to be split up so that we could run back to the truck to avoid frostbite and the tricks used in the freestyle were adapted over the three days of shooting in order to be hit clean under freezing and windy conditions.
We are very proud on how well this project turned out and hope everyone enjoys the products of our hard work.
