And here you have it, the best yoyo video I’ve seen this year. Daniel Tamariz gives us that rarest of things…a video with absolutely the freshest and most unique tricks imaginable that captures the eye of both players and non-players, executed perfectly. I remember spending several years working on ring-based tricks, only to give up in frustration because the equipment just couldn’t handle it. (I was working with Renegades and Freehand 1s at last attempt, neither of which were known for reliability). I gave up on the concept way too early, and seeing someone who has done effortlessly what I have only imagined…it fills my heart with fresh inspiration. Such an amazing piece of work from an incredible yoyo player.

US National Champion Sebby Brock edited a video of his protegé, Alec Jones, and this guy is just oozing talent. You can see a nice touch of Sebby’s influence in his trick delivery, but he’s clearly got a creative mind that pushes well past his influences. Definitely a great watch, and someone to keep an eye on.
