This is GOLD! Duncan Crew’s one and only Takeshi Kamisato is known for being pretty awesome at skateboarding, but other than a couple of tricks on yo-yo clips, we rarely see him ride. Takeshi has, however, dug up this VHS gem! That’s right, Takeshi was already much more awesome than everyone else 20 years ago!

An action-packed weekend approaches quickly!
In Japan, one of the country’s oldest regional contests, West Japan will take place in Osaka. Plenty of well known names are expected, including Tatsuya Fujisaka, Ryosuke Iwasaka, Ryo Yamashita, Ryusei Saito, Taichiro Higashi, and Kazuaki Sugimura. A certain “Jyon Ando” is listed among the 58 1A players, and it remains to be seen if that’s the legendary John Ando himself!
Live transmission is planned on Ustream!
In Europe, the attention is turned to Poland, running the eleventh edition of its national contest. Poland’s old and new talents will meet again after an excellent show earlier this year at the European Yo-yo Contest. European Champion Grzegorz Wojcik, from One Drop, and YoyoFactory’s Marcin Drzewiecki and Mateusz Ganc are no doubt the favorites there.
Stay tuned, as we’ll be back with contest updates throughout the weekend!
Asia’s biggest contest is back! Readers will remember the contest was postponed last November with no new date defined. This week we had an announcement of a new date, from July 13th to 15th, in Singapore.
From the announcement, AP will be held along with this year’s Singapore Nationals, at the Singapore Street Festival!
Several people complained on Facebook that the dates are the same as this year’s China Yo-yo Contest, which is itself a huge contest where several players from Hong Kong and mainland China compete, so one of them will probably be missing Chinese contestants.
More information should be up in the near future, so stay tuned!
The YoyoFactory duo Luis Enrique and Paul Kerbel finished on top at this year’s Mexico National Contest, held yesterday. Luis Enrique came out on top, followed by Paul and Duncan Crew’s Alan Grimberg.
