Ann Connolly is back on YouTube with another YoYoFactory product review, this one for for the controversial-ish YoYoFactory Wide Angle Shutter that looks like a bi-metal but isn’t! It’s a fun yoyo though, and Ann is always a joy to watch so dig in!

The YoYoFactory crew was in and out of PNWR, fresh off the heels of the International Toy Fair in NYC, but Ben still managed to find time to shoot enough for a sweet trick showcase video. Awesome!
YoYoFactory has spent years in search of the perfect 2A looping yoyos. From the original Loop 720 to the 1080 and now the 2020, it’s been a remarkably patient game of testing and iteration until finally they’ve built what is probably the greatest looping yoyos ever made to date, by any company. In this video, they break down how the Loop 2020 works, how and why you should adjust it, and how to handle the equipment end of 2A. Once you’ve got that sorted, you can move on to the 10,000 hours of practice. You know…the fun part. 😉
(And as a bonus, here’s a video where multiple World Champion Shu Takada shows you how he sets up his Loop 2020s!)
2018 World YoYo Champion Evan Nagao hits the beach with the new Edge Beyond, his latest signature model from YoYoFactory! The rims on this thing are super burly, and the ultra fat profile looks unlikely but feels super comfortable in the hand. Super fun and gets the job done!

Congrats to Hunter Feuerstein on officially moving up to the YoYoFactory Contest Team! Check out the full statement from YoYoFactory below. Great job, Hunter!
Hunter Feuerstein graduated SHUTTER CREW and was immediately presented with the opportunity to join the YoYofactory Contest Team. Hunter is the first Graduate to be offered a spot on the Team and we proud to announce he accepted!
Hunter has been a prolific traveller this season making it out to PNWR, NWR and just this weekend he put down his best freestyle to date at MWR taking 2nd place amongst a talented field. If he were a horse we would say he is just coming into form for the big race, the race being USA nationals. We would also say he is quite small for a horse.
Congrats on the MWR result and heres to a bright future on the team!
YoYoFactory went off on another adventure! This one was a little closer to home that usual, and found Gentry Stein and Hans Van Dan Elzen road tripping to Thatcher, Arizona to meet up with one of the competitors from the recent Arizona State YoYo Contest to offer him a second chance. This video is a really sweet reminder that nearly every company in this industry is still just run by a handful of yoyo players. Hope you had a good time, Hiram!
You know how there are some players where you’re just like “Man, I could just sit and that that dude goof off, like, forever.” Well, here you go. An epic trick dump from Polo Garbkamol to show off his new signature model from YoYoFactory, and instead of a typically fast-paced product video it’s just Polo kicking back and cruising through 5+ minutes of solid tricks. So good. Put it on repeat.
Yoyo used is the YoYoFactory Marco.
It warms my cold, black heart to see Gentry and Ann goofing off in London, Hans breaking a Guinness World Record for Most Loops in One Minute, and Gentry doing an interpretive dance on hoverboard to someone singing Journey at the London Toy Fair. I mean…this is pretty much all of my favorite things, really. Yoyos, classic rock, fog, tea, bridges, and good humans. Awesome!
YoYoFactory is known for a lot of things…great yoyos, a massive selection, and an incredible team of sponsored players. And in recent years they’ve become the ultimate yoyo travel company, bringing their players to the most exotic of locations for tricks, good times, and incredible photos and footage. Their most recent adventure didn’t find anyone throwing yoyos though, since it would increase their chances of getting shot.
You should absolutely stop what you are doing and head over to their site for the full blog post on this trip. Here’s an excerpt, to give you an idea what kind of intense experience this was:
North Korea is now off limits to US citizens. Visitors from other nations can access it via China and we know a number of people who have visited in the last 2 years. None of them recommended going. Since the capture and ultimate death US tourist Otto Warmbier its something we wouldn’t consider doing…. but there is another way to visit.
Its safe they say. Organized tours leave Seoul daily shuttling camera toting tourists to the DMZ (demilitarized zone). This area is 6km back from where the battle line was when a ceasefire on the Korean Peninsula was called in 1953. Roughly following the 38th parallel, the DMZ stretches almost 150-mile-long.
Located within the territory is the “truce village” of P’anmunjom here North Korean and American soldiers stand face to face. This is part of the Joint Security Area (JSA) which is used by the two Koreas for diplomatic engagements and, until March 1991, was also the site of military negotiations between North Korea and the United Nations Command (UNC). Now its is used for posturing. Loud speakers blare propaganda, both directions.
While the military stands face to face, guns ready. So do tourists. From the South and North.
Head over to YoYoFactory.com and check this out. And hats off to Ben and Gentry for bringing us all along for such an amazing journey!

Looks like our friends at YoYoFactory have picked up new distribution in the UK! According to this press release, YoYoFactory is re-launching in the UK with distribution from Wilton Bradley, a company who, according to their website, “specialise in the design, development, sourcing and supply of quality consumer leisure goods, supplying our own branded goods to specialist retailers and sourcing a broad range of products for many of the world’s leading retailers and third party brand owners.”
That’s a mouthful, but what it means is better availability of YoYoFactory yoyos in the UK, so that’s a good thing. The full press release is below…here’s hoping this is a sign of good things to come for the UK yoyo scene!
YoYoFactory has partnered with Wilton Bradley to distribute their expert yoyos line throughout the UK.
YoYoFactory has tapped Wilton Bradley to act as UK distributor for their expert line of YoYos, the firm has announced.
“We are pleased to announce that Wilton Bradley has agreed to be our new distribution partner in the UK,” said Hans ‘YoHans’ Van Dan Elzen, founder of YoYoFactory and international YoYo superstar.
“The UK market is special to us and requires a strong partner who can bring the excitement to the public that Yo-Yos require. Wilton Bradley was the only choice.”
Wilton Bradley’s head of sales and marketing, Simon Hampton added: “We are delighted to be the UK’s sole distributor for YoYoFactory, we have a full product range which will provide a great throwing experience for the beginner using the TenTrick range right up to the high-grade aluminium DV888 Yo-Yo or the F.A.S.T 201 to master the classics.”
USA-based YoYoFactory was founded in 2003 and designs and manufactures the world’s best performing Yo-Yos for professional players, World Record holders, National and World Champions. YoYoFactory also makes accessible YoYos to suit a varied range of styles and skill-levels.
YoYoFactory has been supporting the yoyo scene in Mexico for nearly a decade, sponsoring their players and sending special guests to their events. This year they attended the 2017 Mexican National YoYo Contest with Evan Nagao and shot some beautiful footage with team members Luis Enrique, Betty Gallegos, and Paul Kerbel.
Evan Nagao stopped in to the YoYoFactory office for a visit, and it looks like he had a good time. Throwing some tricks, trying out all the yoyos, meeting some local players, and he even had time to show off his impersonations of Gentry Stein and Zach Gormley. Dude is a one-man Basecamp, lol.
