We just got word that high-end Japanese yoyo brand YoYoRecreation has a new line of budget-friendly yoyos coming soon under the sub-brand, “Rebellion”. We contacted YoYoRecreation team member Piotrek Smietana for details and he had this to say:
Rebellion is a new brand powered by Yoyorecreation, in a reply for the needs of the market. A lot of people want to have Yoyorecreation yoyos but they simply can’t afford it, and thats where Rebellion comes in.
3 brand new yoyos will be released during JN – Acro, Butcher and Golyat. It will be a brand on which I will be working together with Kengo, combining his experience in Japan and mine in Europe.
Photos of the three models and the official statement from YoYoRecreation are below…once we get our samples we’ll post full specs and details. This is a huge step forward for YoYoRecreation…we’re looking forward to trying them out!
Butcher
6,480 JPY ($54 USD)
The unique rim shape of the Butcher provides excellent weight distribution and superb performance. This model is aimed at players who prefer an organic feel, and have a balanced play-style which demands all-round performance.
The first run will be available in matte green and matte black.
ACRO
5,980 JPY ($50 USD)
Despite its wide shape, the Acro is a very stable yo-yo. It really shines through when performing tricks such as hops which are aided by its width.
This first run will be available in red and black.
Golyat
5,480 JPY ($46 USD)
The Golyat has an over-sized shape, machined out of polyacetal resin. The resin has a naturally smooth texture, and the yo-yo plays exceptionally nimbly.
The first fun will be available in blue and black.

2015 is obviously extraordinarily exciting for all Japanese players with the World Yo-yo Contest in Tokyo quickly approaching, and the 44FESTA crew is also clearly pumped about it!
We start off with 44FESTA vol. 11, held earlier this year on January 17th.
The first event in 2015 came with the announcement of a new crew member, Shintaro Noda, and a nice exhibition booth promoting the upcoming World Yo-yo Contest.

Looks like we have another titanium yoyo in the works! This one from new company Luftverk Titanium Supply Co., operated by Jeffrey Pang. You know, the guy that was responsible for these yoyo videos? That guy. I’ve heard great things about his 3d printed yoyos as well, which he manufactures under the name Fluid Print Dynamics, although I haven’t tried one yet. Check out pics and specs below…we’ll add more info as we have it!
