LP by sOMEThING

November 20, 2013 By Steve Brown

So apparently, the new looping yoyo by sOMEThING has the added mojo of every single one being hand-assembled by 4x World YoYo Champion and sOMEThING owner, Hiroyuki Suzuki.

Still no specs/price/release date that we’ve been able to find, but at least we know quality control won’t be a problem!

Thanks to YoYo Store Rewind for specs, and to Christian for the tip!

Weight: 55.5 grams
Diameter: 58.84 mm
Width: 34.31 mm
Response: Starburst
Bearing: Size K

Specs may change for Production Run.

We are currently redesigning some important part.

    Thanks for your interests!

Was a little sad when the starburst came into view but I have an open mind as you will never know until you loop it right? Just can’t get the 1080s to work right.

If you want some specs to add to this article, Yo-yo Store REWIND has it listed under the store’s “coming soon” section.
I can’t wait for the LP to come out. I bet it will be an amazing looper.

Oh, retail price is not revealed yet but this Instagram photo by Mickey took at the recent YoyoFair in Japan shows that he was selling the LP at the yoyoaddict booth for 2500JPY. Converted it is around $25.

Interesting. I wonder if it’s going to have an adjustable gap? If not, I don’t see how they can pitch their usually justified high prices. I might end up getting this if it falls within the <$20 category. Also, why lube on the axle? Is this a transaxle?

It’s pretty standard to apply a small amount of light lube on the axle for looping yoyos during assembly, transaxle or not. Makes sure that they are nice and snappy right out of the package, but without being too gunked up for players to easily get them dialed in the way they like them.
