Looks like the UK is finally getting in to the small-run metal yoyo game with the unfortunately named “Toe-Yo“. Looks like they’re pretty early on in the process, with only a few prototypes existing so far. So listen up guys…it’s not too late to change the name!
Video features Lee Traversari, Chris Mangnall, Dale Williamson, Tom Fletcher, Mal Lane, Grant Lawrence, and Toe-Yo creator Joe Davies.
Ive met joe a few times and I can tell you that he’s not in it for the money He’s all about making and throwing yoyos.
Personally I couldn’t care less about a brand name.

If he’s just doing this as a lark, good for him! For me, yoyoing has been a job since 1995 so I tend to approach everything from the business side of things.
Joe Davies says
Obviously it’s not necessary to offer an explanation for the name, but…in its defence.
Know only to close friends I have larger than ordinary big toes- something not often mentioned when introducing myself.
Similarly I don’t immediately reveal my affections for yoyos, through fear of being considered a juvenile 25 yr old who “still plays with toys”. Through their narrow mindedness, I have to at times alter my behavior.
The name was a silent attempt to quietly reveal myself to a community that I oddly have less reservations with than folk I meet physically.
As with the whole project there is no marketing strategy involved.

name is fine lol, to quote someone involved: “Toe-yo is not a good name but stuff like monkey fingers yoyo and barely legal is ok? mejh.”
also just because its made in the uk doesnt mean it needs to represent the entire country..
..that being said I am currently sketching ideas for a new logo thats a bit more…punk >:D
Steve Brown says
“It’s not a good name, but other people have bad names too” isn’t much of a branding strategy.
Yeah, when I googled Monkeyfinger the result wasn’t too flattering. The yoyos kick a**, though.
The name is bad. At least make something of the British thing to establish the brand. And the logo is even worse.
Toe is pretty much the worst word that rhymes with yo that could have been chosen.
