Drew Tetz put it best when he said “How am I supposed to get any work done today?” Seems the new year has brought a mad rush of new video material from a ton of players, and here’s Michael Kurti dogpiling on to keep you just another 1:34 away from being productive. Nice Cure shirt, Michael!

Magic YoYo – 3 Chapter
I’m not sure what’s better in this video from Magic YoYo…the yoyoing, or the bizarre special effects combination of Harry Potter Dark Wizard teleportation into neo-futuristic The Matrix-meets-JayZ CGI sets.
Part of me is definitely on-board with yoyo product videos being this crazy and over-the-top, but it’s definitely really distracting from the actual play.
It’s still totally worth 5 minutes of your time, though. Enjoy!
Sora Ishikawa 1.1
Sora Ishikawa just posted up 2:55 of counterweight 3A bangers that have us thinking that 2013 is going to be a pretty amazing year for yoyoing.
Response in Unresponsive YoYos Pt. 2 – String
DefinitiveYoyoing.com has posted the second part in their series on yoyo response, giving an in-depth breakdown on all the ins-and-outs of yoyo string. Well worth a read, so head on over and check it out!
Unlike everything else about a yoyo, the string itself has seen the least amount of change. The modern yoyo string starts out as a type 8 (4×2) 100% cotton string. The next large trend in string was the Slick 6 (3×2) 50/50 cotton/poly blend. Now the gold standard is the type 6 (3×2), 100% polyester string. It has not been until recently that small indie string companies have opened up, trying out different things. The vast majority of yoyo string, however, fall under the above three types, and over 95% of them come from the same factory too.

YoYoJam Theory – New Yo-Yo
YoYoJam just released a new video for their upcoming release of a new yo-yo called the Theory. Features Ben Conde, Yoshi Mikamoto, and Grant Johnson and WOW do they have some killer Single A tricks. Amazing stuff.
Theory is a new budget metal yo-yo from YoYoJam that features some plastic caps similar to the Lateral Caps.
And as you can see from Ben Conde there is some neat stuff you can learn to do with it.
Raised by Wolves X Caribou Lodge – The Bridge Video feat. Jensen Kimmitt
To celebrate the upcoming collaborative project with Raised by Wolves, we at CLYW decided to send out Jensen Kimmitt and Charles Haycock into the freezing December winter in Edmonton to make a video. We wanted a raw feel with a realistic but impressive perspective on what return tops are all about to go along with the pieces we worked on with the folks at Raised by Wolves.
It took three days and over fifty takes to achieve this single shot. Due to the average temperature of -25C, the shooting had to be split up so that we could run back to the truck to avoid frostbite and the tricks used in the freestyle were adapted over the three days of shooting in order to be hit clean under freezing and windy conditions.
We are very proud on how well this project turned out and hope everyone enjoys the products of our hard work.
