2013 YoYoExpert Trading Card Series & Giveaways
YoYoExpert has officially announced the full line-up for their 2013 trading card series, as well as details for a pretty massive series of giveaways, hidden inside packs of the cards. They’ve managed to relay this in what is possibly the tallest yoyo-related graphic ever posted online, but lemme tell you…it’s totally worth all the scrolling.
There are a total of 65 cards this year, including players from YoYoFactory, Yomega, Duncan, YoYoJam, CLYW, SPYY, C3 YoYoDesign, 365yoyotricks.com, OneDrop, Werrd, and more…including three very special 3-D Legend Cards featuring Jason Lee, Paul Escolar, and John Higby.
Special “Winning Ticket” cards are mixed in randomly to the foil packs that each contain 3 random trading cards…and you get one of these foil packs with every single order of $50 or more placed at YoYoExpert.com. If you find a Winning Ticket…you win the prize associated with that ticket…it’s just that simple!
Full details are online at YoYoExpert.com. The list of prizes is kind of insane, and really tall, so get that scrolling finger ready and…..GO!
Terra Kendama Re-Introduces The Pill
The good folks at Terra Kendama have struggled to keep up with demand for their unique kendama model, The Pill, since they introduced it. People just couldn’t get enough of them, and they couldn’t make enough to keep up with demand.
So it’s pretty awesome for everyone that they’ve announced they have finally sourced a production house that can maintain their level of quality, and help them produce The Pill in large enough quantities to meet demand. Finally!
These should be available soon…keep an eye on Terra Kendama for details!
And if you’re new to The Pill and don’t quite understand how these work, here’s a fantastic video showing the possibilities of The Pill from The Kengarden:
W-wing Offstring YoYo by BWW
SpinGear just tweeted about this new offstring yoyo by World Champion Tsubasa Onishi. Looks…well, it looks a lot like another huge offstring yoyo for serious competitors. That style of play doesn’t really lend itself to a lot of variety in the equipment. I mean, you can shoot for different colors but even then….you’re really kinda stuck with delrin because there just isn’t enough demand to justify molding versus machining. But according to Spin Gear, there will be additional weight kits for this yoyo available later, so that’s pretty cool.
Specs:
Weight: 74.5g
Diameter: 79.8mm
Width: 53.8 – 55.0 mm (depending on gap adjustment)
Bearing: C-Size
Response: YYF Slim Pad
And really, what announcement about a Japanese yoyo would be complete without a hilariously confusing description, courtesy of Google Translate:
Model with respect to the shape of the creative ingenuity that was used to Kamui Onishi players prefer. It is the model that brought, was realized in the factory planning Onishi players themselves are produced in domestic. Endorsement is uncompromised performance ease of use that made the prototype himself until satisfactory.
Pick one up at SpinGear, and while you’re there you should get some Hyper YoYo stuff. Because seriously, it’s all awesome.
