The 8th Malaysian Yo-Yo Championship (MYYC) is our club’s biggest annual event after the Central Malaysia Yo-Yo Championship where we unite the yo-yo players from all over Malaysia under one community to compete for the Malaysian Yo-Yo Champion Title in 4 different divisions. These divisions are Single A Division, Double A Division, Off-String Division and Freehand Division.
MYYC 2012 will be held on December 15th & 16th at Fahrenheit88, Kuala Lumpur. This is an open contest to where families are free to attend and watch the competitors compete for the Malaysian Champion title as well as join in the fun we have in store for them. In addition, we will hold a yoyo workshop for those who are interested to start yo-yoing free of charge.
This contest has attracted a lot of new players & yo-yo enthusiasts from 8 different states in Malaysia to compete in respective division to be crown the next national yo-yo champion which will represent Malaysia in the upcoming international contest (Asia Pacific yo-yo contest 2013 & Worlds yo-yo contest 2013). MYYC 2012 is recognized & sanctioned by the World Yo-Yo Organization and it is also supervised & organized by M-YO (Malaysian Yo-Yo Club)

Great new video from Montreal-based player Alexis JV. Sponsored by SPYY, Alexis has an incredible grip on trick pacing for someone so young. His sense of timing and trick construction are remarkable and watching him play you’d think he’s been throwing for at least a decade.

As we posted before, HSpin is officially no more. I remember throwing the first production release of the HSpin Handquake at a Kite Trade Associate show in Clearwater, Florida in 1998. It was a tiny, weird little thing but we all gathered around Eric Wolff and marveled at how elegant and precise it was. None of us really like the way it played, but we couldn’t help but be absolutely enthralled by the quality and simplicity.
I’ve known Chris for a long time now. He’s a good guy with a beautiful family and a gentle heart, and I wish him well on this next chapter in his life. So long, HSpin!
