Gentry Stein wins PNWR!

The Pacific Northwest Regional contest was held yesterday in Seattle, WA, and Team YoyoFactory took home no less than three of the four titles!

Gentry Stein winning 1A and Miguel Correa in 5A come as no surprise, but 2A was won by none other than two-time World 1A champion Yuuki Spencer! 3A winner was YoyoJam’s Yoshi Mikamoto, and 4A was won by Zach Rubino.

Kentaro Mannen Wins 5th North Japan Yo-yo Contest Title!

Kentaro Mannen continues to dominate the North in Japan and won 1A division at the North Japan Yo-yo Contest for the 5th time in a row! This year’s North Japan Yo-yo Contest (NJ) was held earlier today in Sapporo, Hokkaido.

Veteran Sojun Miyamura took first in 5A, and Yasuki Tachibana won 3A. In 4A, Tomohiko Zanka took home the title, and Yuuzo Okada won the 2A division.

European YoyoFactory Team gets new members

YoyoFactory released a new team video recorded during this year’s EYYC, featuring the team’s newest members: 5A European Champion Daniel Budai from Hungary, and Gacek’s former protegé Marcin Dzewiecki, now promoted to full Contest Team member after an excellent 4th place at the European Championship. Also featured is YoyoFactory Poland’s Protegé Borys Radziszewski.

Krisztian Kaluzsa leaves CLYW

Another big name team departure was announced. This was posted by Krisztian on Facebook:

Krisztian had been on the Canada-based CLYW team since 2009, and recently represented the brand on the European Yo-yo Championships. Krisztian had previously been part of Team YoyoJam.

No announcements have been made so far regarding any new team he might be joining, but C3 and One Drop seem to be the most popular guesses on his Facebook page.

Hidemasa Senba Wins East Japan B!

Hidemasa Senba, Duncan Crew Japan’s most creative mind won this year’s East Japan B-block Yo-yo Contest in a competition with incredibly close scores! Senba won with a final score of 71.6, followed by Keita Kido, with 71.5, and YoyoFactory’s Reiki Sekiya, with 71.3! Sekiya had the highest score, but 3 negative penalty points put him in 3rd place.

Unlike EJ-A and CJ, there were plenty of contestants in all divisions. A lot of new faces were seen but in addition to 1A, 4A also saw several contest veterans, including World Champions Naoto Okada and Tsubasa Oonishi, with Okada coming out on top.

Hiroyuki Suzuki leaves YoyoJam

In a post on his Facebook page, Hiroyuki Suzuki informed he’s parting with YoyoJam on friendly terms after 10 years and numerous titles and signature models.

Some were already expecting his departure following the release of his own brand, sOMEThING by YoyoAddict.

Here’s the official statement:

Since 2002 , Hiroyuki had been with YoYoJam for around 10 years.
YoYoJam worked with Hiroyuki for a lot of his signature yo-yos and all of them succeed very well.

After a long discussion ,Hiroyuki decided to leave the Team.
Still Loving them , respecting them. But to reach the own goal, he decided to leave from YoYoJam and be independent.

In the Email , YoYoJam says “As I said, we understand your desire to be independent and to pursue your own brand. We wish you well and hope that you will have much success. Of course, we will always consider you to be a friend of ours and of YoYoJam. If you change your mind and decide that you would like to participate in Team YoYoJam again in the future, please let me know. There will always be a place for you on the team.”

As you can all see, Hiroyuki and YoYoJam will keep good relationship and both will have bright future.
